Total Death Number Show a Decline ~ COVID-19 April 6, 2020 Data Analysis

CDC released a new page which includes additional statistical data for the COVID-19 cases in the States.

Here is the link to the page:

The table below shows the deaths involving all reported cases between 2/1 and 4/4:

The data is also available as an excel sheet for public to download and analyse.

We analyzed the data of 4/6 and generated the graph below.

A quick overview of our findings:

  • The graph is in a logarithmic scale.
  • It shows Covid-19 related cases are being reported increasingly since 2/29,
  • On the contrary, the total deaths in the country are decreasing.

The data of the next few weeks will be quite determining in the debates wrapped around the COVID-19 outbreak.

If the COVID-19 deaths continue to increase with this speed it should reach 10 folds of the current numbers within the next 1-2 weeks.

At that point, the total deaths in the country should also show an increase because COVID-19 cases are counted in total death numbers. (as the current data showing)

If the opposite of this happens, it will be an anomaly and raise more questions on the data or the origination date of this new virus outbreak.

Time will tell!
